[KLUG Members] RS-422 serial port

Hello,

I've just been given my first RS-422 device and asked to make Linux talk
to it. It requires two RS-422 serial ports. My Dell workstations only
have one RS-232 port. This is a problem.
I'm currently running Redhat Linux 9.0 on the Dells.

The one page manual recommends a dual RS-422 to RS-232 adaptor for $80.
But I still need two ports.

I'm wondering if I should buy an extra RS-232 card and a the $80 adaptor
or just buy a dual RS-422 card.
Are there any RS-422 cards with solid support already in the kernel or
am I stuck buying something and recompiling the kernel?
For that matter, does it matter which dual RS-232 card I could pick??

Any help is appreciated,

John
