Thanks to the Adams (Bultman and Williams) for responding on this topic. I think this problem is a result of my rather estensive fooling around with NFS; I'm sure I mounted some exports and then shut down nfs servers, or rebooted the underlying hosts. Rebooting the (former) cleints or killing the offending processes solved the problem. Regards, ---> RGB <---
