Part of it depends on how much accuracy you want.  Most cheap
CD-R burners will have numerous dropout errors at high speed.
Good software will reread sectors until it gets reasonably good
data, which will make the process take significantly longer.

You may or may not hear the dropped bits when you play the copy.
