Wrong!  Assuming your PC is fast enough, you can always burn at the full
speed allowed by the drive.  I've burned a LOT of data CD's (much more
than I've ripped), and I've always burned at full speed allowed by the
drive or media (whichever is less).

Keep in mind that when you PLAY an _audio_ CD, it's playing at 1X.
Anything faster than that, and you risk losing data.  That's why
you can adjust the paranoia settings; some people care more about
speed, and other people care more about quality.

The _default_ settings on Linux may be slower than Windows, but you
will get a more accurate copy.
