[KLUG Members] Module not loading on boot

I have a machine with -
alias scsi_hostadapter4 sym53c8xx
- in /etc/modules.conf

But on boot the module for this SCSI adapter doesn't load.  I hjave to
modprobe it my hand (or in /etc/rc.d/rc.local wahtever).  All the other
mentioned SCSI adapters load (1..3),  and once the module is loaded the
attached devices perform without any kind of issue.

Anyone else seen this?
