OpenOffice - Everything you pay for in an Office Suite -- FOR FREE! A
team of three KLUG members will take a you on a tour of Open Office, the
Office suitet hat runs on several kinds of computers and provides all
the features and functionality of commerical office suites, but at no
cost for the software. We'll show why this product is a value even at
the same price as some of those other office products, since it will
promote your choice of other tools, and computing solutions, and you can
avoid the purchase of other software products as well. This is a case
study of a successful free software product that can touch every one of
us.

Our presenter:

Robert Brown is a founding member, past chairman, the current publicity
director of KLUG, and has over 25 years experience in software
development in numerous environments, disciplines, and industries. An
intermittant user of UNIX systems for over 15 years, Bob has developed
applications with Linux in in the course of his professional and
volunteer activities. He can also be seen cycling the Kal-Haven trail,
wandering around, perpetrating nature photgraphy or traveling to some
fairly unusual places. Recently, he was elected to chair a major a SIG
of the ACM.
