Is the Samba box joined to the domain?  Or is it standalone?

What version of Samba,  if your on Win2K3 or late XP/2000 you're going
to need >=3.0.4 or your going to have sign-n-seal issues, etc...

Do you see anything in /var/log/samba/log.%m
