Probably not,  but sometimes the parameters in one can cause problems.

Database directives.  When berkeley opens a database (which is the
contents of a directory in berkeley lan) it processes any DB_CONFIG file
for options such as amount of shared memory to allocate, where to write
logs, where to create temp files, etc...

Do you ever see any DBERROR out of memory type messagaes, or 'unable to
allocate', etc...
