I installed debian in an attempt to dual boot my laptop. The new beta says
it will detect other OS (but didn't detect my XP install) so I figured...no
biggie...just add it to the menu.lst in grub. I had a Mandrake 10 install
that I blew out and put debian in its place. I had previously had SuSE 9 on
it before that.
I checked the lilo.conf in mandrake before I installed Debian so I know XP
is on /dev/hda1. I set up grub like so (as per documentation) :
title WinXP
root (hd0,1) (linux is set up under (hd0,2) so I figured XP install would
just be a change from 2->1)
makeactive
chainloader+1 (no idea what this is for, but docs say to do it)
Now when I boot I get an error 13 which grub says is a filesystem error.
Any ideas as to how I can get back into my XP system please!!!!??
I know it is all fine because I was just dual booting XP/Mandrake this
morning.
Thanks for the help.
