Since there has been a lot of interest in MythTV, here's a brief
rundown of the latest developments since I gave my presentation.

MythTV version 0.15.1 is out (my presentation was running 0.14).
Improvements that effected me the most include:

o) Much better handling of multiple TV capture/tuner cards.

The scheduler combines listings of duplicate channels into one, and will
automatically choose which card to use to avoid conflicts. There are
also commands to manually switch between cards while watching live TV.

o) Much better handling of the downloaded TV schedule:

When I gave my presentation, MythTV screen-scraped the listings from
zap2it.com in a nightly cron job. This was very slow, sometimes
unreliable, and against zap2it's acceptable use policy.

zap2it.com is now onboard with MythTV and provide FREE listing downloads
in XML format. This is MUCH faster (less bandwidth) and more reliable.
You have to sign up for a free account with zap2it and answer a
questionnaire every three months. They claim to have no plans to turn
this into a pay service.

This last item pretty much forced the release of 0.15 when it did
because zap2it redesigned their web site, which broke the program
schedule download in MythTV 0.14. 0.15.1 is a bug fix release which
came out a few days after 0.15 (minor bugs, which didn't effect me).

o) There are also lots of minor improvements too numerous to be listed.

o) I now have a stand-alone remote control on my remote frontend box.
(nothing to do with the new release :)
