This is normal in KDE and GNOME 2.0, 2.2, & 2.4. GNOME 2.6 implements a
real security subsystem (called the key-ring), and works MUCH more
smoothly. Otherwise your just talking about VFS modules (shared library
modules) that have no persistence and thus you loose everything (cache,
passwords, tokens, etc...) when they go out-of-scope. I've heard
rumblings of freedesktop mangling the GNOME keyring to be desktop
independent (so it functions in KDE as well), much like they did with
Gstreamer (which now also provides multimedia support in KDE).

How long before KDE is nothing but a GNOME theme? Thats my question.
