This reads like it 'might' be the same thing as a ScanExpress 1200 UB

for the ScanExpress 1200 UB Plus. And it shows a Scan Magic 1200 UB
Plus Might be worth a shot. (they list it as UB, not USB)

I put this in google:  linux Scan Magic 1200 USB Plus
Google suggested:  linux ScanMagic 1200 USB Plus
Mustek was the first in the list of google choices.
