[KLUG Members] Connecting to MySQL

Ok.  I have set-up a test system on my iBook to learn a little more 
about how (L/M)AMP works.I am having problems connect to MySQL through 
phpMyAdmin.  I can connect as long as I'm not connected to a network - 
through loopback?, but when I have an IP to a Network I am refused 
connection, because MySQL sees me as the IP address.  Username and 
password do not matter, connection is refused.  I am also preparing a 
similar set-up on a linux system, although that is not yet running.

Info:
Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar)
Apache 1
MySQL 4.0.18
PHP 4.3.4
phpMyAdmin 2.2.7


I'm sure this is just a configuration issue, but I just can't find what 
needs to be added/changed.  Thanks for any help.
