go to this link when you receive your SBC Yahoo! Dial account from a 
windows PC (which also works under linux using normal ppp dialer, just 
remember your username must include @sbcglobal.net):

Follow the steps to update your account to DSL.  When your modem ships 
verify that the power adapter doesn't sound like an aquarium filter 
motor and that your NIC will firmly hold the cable in place.  Then just 
use the PPPoE config wizard if you have one.
