Is it possible to use mplayer to listen to real player streams? About
plugins says -

"Video Player Plug-in for QuickTime, RealPlayer and Windows Media Player
streams using MPlayer"

But it doesn't seem to "go".

The codec seems to be built in -
$ mplayer -afm help
....
"realaud RealAudio decoder (binary real audio codecs)"

Interesting however that the mplayerplug-in in about:plugins doesn't
list the real audio mime type.

/etc/mplayerplug-in.types includes -
audio/x-pn-realaudio:ram:RealAudio;
audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin:rpm:RealAudio;
audio/x-realaudio:ra:RealAudio;
