Not a big fan of xine, haven't had alot of luck in the past.

gstreamer isn't an application, it is a multimedia component system used to
build multimedia applications (like GNOME 2.6's Totem)

Which might be a gstreamer app,  both KDE and GNOME are moving to gstreamer,
despite the "g" in the name.
