BitTorrent is a peer to peer system, so you need to upload too.  IIRC
satellite has an extremely poor upload speed, and if you don't upload
BitTorrent limits your download too.  That could be your problem.
Or if your inside a firewall, and don't allow the ports needed for
uploading, then it could be blocking uploads all together and your
download speed will be extremely limited.

Mandrake's web site has a list of all official mirror sites. That may be
a better option for you.

Or you could be FUP'ed (Fair Use Policy, some Satellite ISP's have).
