Well I have found a work around for my problem. There
is a program for both windows and linux called Hymn
(www.hymn-project.org) that strips out the DRM portion
of the Itunes downloaded files. From there you can use
dBpoweramp (www.dbpoweramp.com) to convert them to an
MP3, OGG, or other audio related file. the nice thing
is dbpoweramp actually advertises that it runs under
Wine. I did have to run the Hymn program on windows in
order for it to strip out the DRM portion of the file
since it had to access Itunes to verify it was a
validated machine. I only did this to save time
because when I did a search there were instructions on
how to access the code in the registery to use under
linux.
