I'm trying to install SUSE on a white box with an Adaptec 2120S raid
controler.

SLES9 works at first but after a little while the array goes offline.

I've tried SLES 8 too however the aacraid that comes stock doesn't work with
this card. I put the corect one from adaptec's website on a floppy and
insmod from there and was able to complete the install. However, when the
system boots from the array it tries to load the one that came stock. I
tried booting to a rescue cd and copying the correct driver to the
lib/modules/2.4.19-64G-SMP/kernel/drivers/scsi directory but it doesn't use
that one. It still loads the stock one.

Any pointers would be helpfull.
