I know that the package that was initially referenced as an example
for mirroring actually intercepts the network traffic prior to it
being written to disk and sends a copy of that to the other server.
So you are actually mirroring the data pre-write not post-write.
This works well and the failover works pretty flawlessly. I set one
up a few years ago for M$ Windows and it worked good.
