[KLUG Members] POP3

Well actually POP3 is only for incoming email messages. It is a way
to retrieve email from a message store. All outbound email goes out
through a SMTP server. That is why you will see references in email
clients to your inbound and outbound server. They do not even have
to be the same box. Often people with multiple accounts will use
just a single SMTP server for all outgoing messages. When setting up
Linux you will have to startup a POP3 server and a SMTP server.

This issue gets muddied when using something like Exchange or
GroupWise, because it handles mail differently than Internet email.
