Here is a cut-n-paste of the instructions I give to my troglidytes, I
mean, users.

1.) VPN Private Connection
1.1) General Tab
1.1.1) "Host name or IP address of destination" = {vpnServer}
1.2) Security Tab
1.2.1) Click "Advanced (custom settings)"
1.2.2) Click "Settings" button
1.2.3.1) Advanced Security Settings dialog
1.2.3.2) "Advanced Security Settings" = "Require encryption"
1.2.3.3) "Allow these protocols" = "(PAP)" NOT checked
1.2.3.4) "Allow these protocols" = "(SPAP)" NOT checked
1.2.3.5) "Allow these protocols" = "(CHAP)" NOT checked
1.2.3.6) "Allow these protocols" = "(MS-CHAP v2)" checked
1.2.3.7) OK
1.2) Networking Tab
1.2.1) "Type of VPN server I am calling" = "(PPTP)"
1.2.2) Select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
1.2.3) Click "Properties"
