Now somethings it uses both, checking the internet DNS servers first,
then checking the internal DNS servers.  If I have a host defined as an
external IP, it resolves to the external IP (it also has an internal
address).  For those that only have internal IP's, it returns that IP.

Yeah, that was it.  Crap!  I was preventing SMB from leaking.

I have WINS configured on Samba, but I never tried it before.

And I'm still not sure it's working since while trying to make this work
before, I added my samba server to the XP lmhosts file.  I'll have to
nuke the lmhosts and see if it still works.

Yes, I see that.  With the XP box hooked outside my firewall on a 10BT
connection to my internal network it's VERY slow.  I can hardly wait to
try it from a remote location!  :-/
