[KLUG Members] Computer Hangs in Redhat 9 bootup: finding module dependencies

Hi,

In RedHat 9

Machine is hanging sometimes during boot at stage: 

  Finding module dependencies
   or 
  Finding new hardware,


Reboot using Ctrl+alt+del  or pressing power off switch lets me get 
through after reboot.



When I leave the machine on for more than 1-2 hrs at a stretch, the 
keyboard and mouse become non-responsive
and  scroll-lock and num-lock keep blinking continously.

The only way to get it working again is to turn off UPS power and restart 
it.




I have Athlon machine. Am wondering if this is software problem or 
hardware problem or combination
of both.

Wondering if its due to overheating problem.


Any help would be appreciated.
