Yep,  have allot of experience with so called "VARs".  Usually they add
cost, not value.  They are so self-absorbed that they even have their
own trade journals to convince themselves as to how wonderful and
essential they are.

Usually it boils down to "here is the software, and a discount off our
totally obscene hourly rate to use our totally worthless MCSE flunky".
