A presentation covering the history of storage, from the days of Direct
Attached (DAS) through the current 4th generation Storage Area Networks
(SAN). This is intended to be an inter-active discussion exploring the
issues of storage and the industries attempts at solving them. We will
explore topics that include backup/restore, server personality, boot
from "SAN", differences of "SAN" "NAS" and "CAS", what are "ILM" and
"DLM", and Disaster Recovery "DR". This is a whiteboard presentation so
bring your questions and help make this a real educational experience.

Our presenter:

I have 20 plus years of bleeding edge experience in the open systems
world. Having spent time at Apollo Computer, HP, SGI and consulting in
an advanced research group at Ford Motor Company. Always learning and
listening to people smarter than myself has been a key to my success.
Hope to meet lots of these people at this KLUG meeting. NovaStar
Solutions 35200 Plymouth Rd. Livonia, MI 48150
