[KLUG Members] client-error-document-format-not-supported

I'm trying to switch our very last application of the old lprng server
to our CUPS server. It is a crumby old COBOL application that runs on
AIX; it simply submits jobs to the local qdaemon which sends the job to
the printer server via lpr/lpd. Dozens of other application submit jobs
to the CUPS box via lpr/ipp/cifs[samba] without any problem. Only any
job coming from this application results in -
client-error-document-format-not-supported
- in the log file and no print job. The jobs do contain PCL control
codes, so I assume CUPS is picking up on those. (Jobs send from other
applications on the AIX box print fine; as in "who -u | lpr -Pactdc")
I'd like to either just have CUPS treat these jobs as raw, or 'train'
cups to recognize these files.
Any suggestions?
I tried specifying the print job type as run on the AIX box (qprt -dp
-P{queue}) but that didn't seem to get either communicated to or
recognized by the CUPS server.
