Yep, so far my mplayer has played ever since thing I've thrown at it.  

Funny thing is, it plays WMV files made by our Safety Training
department on a Windows XP Media machine with a much nicer picture and
smoother audio than Windows Media Player 10, I mean it is really
noticeable - go figure.
