"Bad" new--I just tried it with Firefox in Windows and it works fine.
Could it be the Linux version of Acrobat reader (5.0) is causing the
problem?

Back in Linux, I tried disabling the pdf plug-in (which supposedly would
cause the file to be downloaded rather than opened in a Firefox window),
but that didn't help at all.

Using Firefox 1.0.2.
