MTA = Mail Transfer Agent.  What do _you_ think it means?  :-)
MUA = Mail User Agent.  Same question.  :-)

MTA's:  Sendmail, Postfix, Exim, ...

MUA's:  Evolution, Thunderbird, mutt, elm, mail/mailx, pine, ...

I'm not a fetchmail user, but it's a program to retrieve mail, so it
doesn't sound like a MTA to me.  But maybe it has some MTA capabilities,
so feel free to correct me.
