SuSe 9.3 comes with the Imendio Blam RSS reader; which seems like a nice
RSS reader. But if you enter a channel that requires authentication
(username/password - HTTP Basic stuff, nothing fancy even, like NTLM,
SPA, or Kerberos) it just sort of doesn't do anything. And there was
more documentation about Cyrus SASL a decade ago then this little
product seems to have now. Does anyone know how to make Blam receive
an authenticated channel?

If not, what RSS readers out there [ and oh lordy do there seem to be a
gajillion of them ] that don't suck AND do authenticated channels? (And
don't start with the letter "K" :)

<rant>A nice portable .NET one would be ideal, but I don't have my hopes
up. Building an RSS reader seems to currently be the 'cool' project for
every wheenie who thinks he can program (like making
gee-yet-another-ogg/mp3-player was 18 months ago), clutttering up the
space with lots of barely operational doo-dads.</rant>

OpenGroupware's ZideStore integration component makes project notes,
calenders, and task lists available as RSS feeds; which would be handy
in some circumstances, but it of course needs to authenticate you.
