[KLUG Members] samba encrypted passwords

I'm having trouble setting up a new samba network.

I've enabling encrypted passwords for the XP boxes in smb.conf and ran
the mksmbpasswd.sh script, making sure smb.conf points to the resulting
file.

But, the XP boxes won't connect.  If I disable encrypted passwords and
use a box not using encrypted passwords it connects fine.  I've set up
several samba networks without encrypted passwords but I'd like to use
encrypted passwords with this one.

Ideas?
