Dear all,

We have just started working with Scribus. But the good news is that we
are working in Hindi. Though typing in Hindi is not possible in Scribus
but open-office formatted document can be imported to Scribus. It is a
great achievement. I think it is a revolution in the context of Linux
publication design.

We are still facing few problem. One is typing Hindi directly in
Scribus, second, it crashes sometime. But these problems we are handling
quite well. But another problem is printing. I mean offset printing.
Scribus can be used very much for publication [for which it is designed]
but it means either pinters should have scribus, that I atleast don't
expect right now, another option is we can produce Post Script file in
Scribus. It looks easy but is not. Printers use Scitex machines for
positive output from the PSEPS files. So we need to produce PS/EPS files
for Scitex machines as we do in QuarkXpress or PageMaker etc.

If we can find any solution for this Scitex PS driver it will further
liberate publication design from propreitary model dependecy.

Please some one think of a solution or may be write a driver.

Regards,

Komal
