[KLUG Members] pcmcia not starting

I run Mandrake 10.1 on a Sony laptop. Both my wireless and my USB2 PC
Card (which inter alia runs my wireless mouse) depend on the pcmcia
service, which normally starts fine. Suddenly this morning it's not
starting. The start up screen shows "starting pcmcia" but then goes on
without starting it and without giving a "failed" message. 

It worked fine last time I used the computer. Also it works fine when I
boot XP. 

Any ideas?
