OK, I converted my site to Drupal. http://www.reddog.org/
(It's Drupal only after you get past the intro page :)

I was going for a different look/feel/layout than the standard blog'ish,
slashdot'ish layout which seems to be the default. I also converted
most of my previous gallery pages to fit into the Drupal scheme.
(I still have a couple that still need to be fixed)

I found the install documentation to be good, and the install went
fairly easily. But I'm NOT impressed with the setup/admin/configuration
documentation. At least I wasn't able to find any of the non-standard
stuff that I'm doing (navigation menus) in the docs. I reverted to
trial & error to figure out all of my configuration and setup. Once I
figured that out, everything went smoothly.

I had mine running in a hidden subdirectory on my web site before I let
it "go live". It let me develop it privately while my old site
continued to run for the rest of the world. Also easy to do.
