I just configured tor using default settings, with privoxy.

the first site I thought to go to to find my IP address was
www.grc.com<http://www.grc.com>
or
SHIELDS UP!

You can scan for the common ports, and with tor, your route changes (or 
seems to) with page refreshes.
So, if you want to run a web server, and charter blocks it, just keep 
refreshing untill you find a machine that has port 80 open.
