Right, but the kiosks will have auto login set so we get neat things 
like screen savers :) So the usage time will be different than the 
"person sitting in front of it" time.

What I envision is a when login is done, the web browser is opened to a 
sign up/in page to capture name, email address, company name, time in 
front of screen, etc. Then we can present that aggregate to the powers 
that be. Admittedly it wont (easily) give us time in apps like OO, but 
as the stations are going to be used for "Business Research" web time is 
most important.

Is there a way to script a logout combo screensaver? After ten minutes 
of inactivity the screen saver kicks in, after 5 more minutes of 
inactivity GDM does the magic logout dance? Kinda kills the need for 
auto login ... :(

   If you want to track traffic why not just use RADIUS as lots of tools 
exist?
Have thought about radius, but the ole sledge hammer/mosquito thing 
comes to mind
