I would suggest a PC Card SD reader in the laptop.  My digital camera 
uses compact flash, and i keep a PC Card/Compact Flash adapter in my 
laptop at all times.  It makes it very convient to just pop a memory 
card in and read from it.  Granted, this isn't so convienent if you 
don't have a free PC card slot to dedicate to it.
