Assuming that your SuSE 9.3 box is your Samba server, and you are  
replacing a NIC in that box ...

If the new NIC doesn't work out of the box, you may need to go into  
Yast and configure the new NIC (and delete the old NIC, if it's still  
there).  No big deal.
