Yes to the scroll wheel.  I have a cheapy labtec usb mouse (2 button + 
scroll wheel [scroll wheel is also a third button]) and it works without 
any configuring.  Just plug and go.

There is NeoOffice/J.  A java implementation of OO.  It is a little slow 
- much like earlier versions of OO without the preloader.  i used it 
during your Impress presentation and all that was demonstrated was 
available.
