[KLUG Members] X screen magnifyer

After long hours of coding, playing, or just browsing in front of a
computer my eyes start to burn from strain. One thing I have found to
help is a screen magnifier. I'm running a recent Gentoo with cTwm as a
window manager on a fast computer. I've installed kmag, which does
exactly what I need it to do: magnify the screen.

But, as always, things could be better. One feature that I would
want, though I don't hold out much hope for it in Xfree/xOrg because it
sounds difficult to imposable, is for the magnification to "follow
keyboard input." It currently follows the mouse, and I can live with that.

My real problem, though, is that it takes up half the screen to get a
decent level of magnification. I've got an older laptop that sits right
next to this display. I'd love to be able to put the kmag window on it.

So what I'm asking is, does anyone here have any experience with
visually impaired users and know how to use a different/better screen
magnifier to do what I want, _or_ does anyone know how I can export a
currently running window onto another X server?
