There's a paragraph:

If you create a logical volume gorup in Disk Druid as you install Linux,
you can use the collection of LVM utilities to manage logical volume
groups and make changes such as those described in the previous example.
The lvm program is the principal utility; enter the command apropos lvm
to see a list of related utilities. (p 595)

Also in the chpt glossary:

A feature of Red Hat Linux and Fedora that provides a collection of
utilities to permit multiple physical storage devices to be managed as
single storage volumes, dividing them into file systems as needed and
adding space to those file systems without  the need to reformat hard
disks. ( p 626)
