[KLUG Members] pdf mystery

I've converted two .doc files to pdf using OO. Both are ca 23KB; both
have the same structure, as nearly as I can see, including a similarly
complex table. Yet one converts to 7645Bytes while the other converts to
435.6KB!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might cause this? With a WP
document I would click alt-f4 to see the actually formatting codes. Is
there any way to do anything like that with OO documents?
