well, i use tightvnc to connect to my linux servers inside of my lan like everyday. it's fast and
works flawlessly. i have used this a couple times to connect to my linux box at home from work. this
was just to prove to myself that i could do it. haven't really thought about security over the net
since i don't use it for that. since i use ssh to connect to my home box from work, i find no need
to see a gui. i usually just need to drop off or pick up a file. i also syncronize my work box to my
home box with ssh.
