Tried this. I can transfer files with and without passive mode on. The
error message I get is "File not found on server" when I
enter /pub/suse/i386/9.3 for the directory. 

I tried an ftp install for 9.2 and get the same message. So, I took off
the leading / so the path is pub/suse/i386/9.3 and now I get the message
"Failed to establish data connection to FTP server". 

Maybe I should just go and buy the DVD from Best Buy My Butt. I bought
9.1 but downloaded 9.2. It's probably about time I bought it again.
