[KLUG Members] NFS as a valid remote directory option?

When I first started playing with linux in college the joke was NFS = No
File Security. Now I have been doing a lot of distro changes and testing
and I'm thinking I should just take my /home info and putting it in a
network share while I go through this constant changing. I currently use
a webdav share on a server, but it's not integrated into GNome that
great and I am hoping to find something with more speed.

Is NFS an option these days? I know of many people setting up NFS
shares, but the security concerns have me second guessing. I'll be
honest that I've never really looked into NFS because of the
reputation.

Thanks

Rick
