Surely by now they must have been rewritten;  I mean they've moved from
M$-DOS, to Win16, to Win32.  I'd be shocked if they were internally
really so fractured;  but then again....

Remember Word4 for DOS (what a HORRIBLE product), is it really possible
that a single line of that code still exists in the Word XP?
