[KLUG Members] CUPS

My Gentoo box's cups system suddenly turned into a black hole, and I
have no idea why. Nothing in /var/log/messages or dmesg, and no
"printer not ready" errors, but no printing. According to cups, the job
is submitted and instantly completes, unless the printer is paused, in
which case it completes as soon as I unpause it. The printer is a Canon
s450, hooked up USB to the machine I'm trying to print from. Udev is
running, so that's my current suspicion, but udev is so confusing I'd
prefer not to mess with it. At this point, I'd be happy if I could get
it to work through an old parallel cable, but CUPS doesn't seem to
acknowledge that such a thing exists!

So how do I fix this thing? Here's my cups printers.conf entry.
