[KLUG Members] Let me introduce myself, Peguicon LUG-Wrangler

Hello, I'm Dan DeSloover, the LUG Wrangler for Penguicon, a weekend-long Linux and Science Fiction
convention that will be held in Southeast Michigan this April.

The idea of a Linux/Science Fiction convention sounds odd, but originally the founders of
PenguiCon decided that, because technical conventions tend to be a little dry and technical and
since there is a great overlap in interests between the two communities, it would be fun to bring
the two groups together. 

That was four years ago, and the con has been a success ever since, bringing together Linux
community favorites such as Jon "maddog" Hall, Eric S. Raymond, Rob "CmdrTaco" Malda and Jeff
"Hemos" Bates and SF and Fantasy greats like Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Not to mention
crossover guests like Cory Doctorow and Chris Debonna (this year!) and musical appearances by the
great Luke Ski and Tom Smith. In addition to sharing our common interests and meeting some of the
both communities' most influential personalities, we get the opportunity to share our passion for
OSS, sometimes with people who haven't had the opportunity to have seen Linux in action before.
