[KLUG Members] Firefox hanging on Mandriva

I'm moving my law office to linux from XP and hit a weird problem.

Firefox works fine on XP but hangs when I use it from the drive with 
Linux (Mandriva).  The machine, the connection, all of it is the same 
except that I'm using Firefox from Linux instead of XP.

A page or two loads fine, but then nothing else loads.  The message at 
the bottom says connecting to the site, and it never finishes.

It came up when I tried to download Thunderbird.  The first Mozilla 
pages load fine, but it stops working when I try to connect to the 
download page.

Any ideas what's going on and how I might troubleshoot the problem would 
be appreciated.
